Community Arts Building Project

In keeping with its mission to further the cultural, educational, and economic growth of Caroline County through community arts development, the Caroline County Council of Arts (CCCA) is pleased with the progress of it’s Community Arts Building project.

In December 2007, the CCCA acquired the 401 Market Street building in Denton to house a community art gallery and other art center services. Renovations have been underway ever since. The executive offices of the CCCA were relocated to the building in Septermber 2008 and a community arts gallery, The Foundry, was open to the public in December 2008.

Fundraising efforts are continuing to help cover the expense of this capital project, including the "Paint a Tile" campaign with close to 100 tiles painted so far. Bottle stoppers and other turned wood items have been made from wood salvaged from the building (circa 1850) and are being sold to raise funds for the final renovation work.

Volunteers are needed! Contact the CCCA office to sign up at (410) 479-1009. Get involved!
