Mark Grande Arts Scholarship

In Memoriam: Mark Grande

A scholarship fund has been established by the Caroline County Council of Arts in honor of Mark Grande, who was the CCCA Executive Director before his death in 2005. Mark was an extremely talented man who gave freely of his time in a number of areas. In addition to his duties with the CCCA, he was a musician and photographer.

His daughter, Lauren Y. Grande says her father was "a very giving and generous person. He was a kind, loving and great father." At Lauren's request, the CCCA has established a scholarship fund for graduating Caroline County students who are persuing studies in the performing & visual arts.

This year the Arts Council will award two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who are planning to study performing or visual arts at college in the Fall. The 2nd annual recepients of the Mark Grande Arts Scholarship were Andrew Largent (NCHS) and Laura Richardson (CRHS).
