2nd Saturdays at The Foundry

Watch local artists at work!

The Caroline County Council of Arts sponsors 2nd Saturdays at The Foundry, a new series providing the public with an opportunity to watch local artists demonstrate their talents across an array of mediums. From plein air to pumpkin painting, basketweaving to jewelry making, there is always something beautiful going on at The Foundry, on the second Saturday of every month, from 2-4pm. Located at 401 Market Street in Denton, all events are open to the public, free of charge, and often encourage audience participation. So be a part of the arts in Caroline...join us for 2nd Saturdays!

Live Music with Summers Off

On Saturday, August 14th 2-4pm, The Foundry will host Summer’s Off as part of the “Second Saturday” series offered at The Foundry, Caroline County Council of Arts’ (CCCA) community art gallery at 401 Market Street in Denton. The event is free to the public!

 

Summers Off is a local band made up mostly of Caroline County teachers. This versatile group of musicians boasts a variety of skills on multiple instruments across several musical genres.  At any performance you are likely to hear saxophones, trumpets, trombone, guitars, drums, and marimba. The band is equally comfortable with classical, blues, or jazz-inspired rock.

Members include:
Alex Honer - Sax and marimba (the only non-teacher member of SO)
Rob Honer - Sax, guitar, and composition
Chris Canfield - guitar, trumpet, and composition
Andy Woodard - bass and trumpet
EJ Oesterle - drums and marimba

Free demonstrations and activities from a variety of artists are held the second Saturday of every month from 2-4pm. Coming next month...2nd Saturdays presents painting with Joyce Zeigler on September 11th.
