By popular demand! This course will have a different focus each week, covering techniques such as drawing, inking, shading, composition, perspective, etc. and a variety of styles including cartoons, comic books, people/animals, fantasy/mythology, advertisements, still lifes, and other subjects as requested by participants. Taught by instructors Jillian Downes and Nicholas Tindall.

Please note that at times this course may involve anatomical studies (Musculature, skin, bone structure) of various animals.

$15 per class for members and non-members. All materials provided.


Growing up as a youth and teenager, Nicholas Tindall’s biggest dream was to become a comic book artist. He had an opportunity to take a week-long class with local political cartoonist Rick Kollinger, learning foundational principles of frame composition and drawing cartoons. He has produced professional illustrations for the Avalon Theatre and award-winning interior design firm Dwelling & Design. He works on freelance graphic design projects from time to time as well.
