I am originally from the D.C. suburbs and have lived on the Eastern Shore for almost 25 years. I love the slower pace of life here, and the beautiful water views almost everywhere you look. I discovered Mosaics about 8 years ago and have been busy creating mosaics ever since. I studied mosaics with several well-known mosaic artists; Kasia Polkowska (Gaithersburg, Md); Laura Rendlen of Maverick Mosaics Art School in Virginia, and locally with Jen Wagner. All these artists can be found on Facebook! I have worked on mosaic murals for the Caroline County Council of Arts: taught mosaics to Lockerman Middle School students and adults at the Foundry in Denton, Md. My mosaics have been shown and sold at the Local Port of Art in St. Michaels, Md; the Foundry in Denton, Md; and at Ouvert Gallery in St. Michaels, Md. Currently I work Mon-Thursdays in the after-school program at Easton Elementary School. I love mosaics because it is Art for everyone. Mosaics can be Modern, Classic, Folk Art, whatever! There are ENDLESS ways to express yourself with Mosaics!! With a basic mosaic project I hope to open a door for YOU to find self-expression through this amazing art form.
