I’ve been an artist since childhood, and my main medium is acrylic and earth on canvas. I’ve
recently been incorporating tree branches in the canvas construction.

My family and teachers in grade school through high school encouraged me to pursue art. I went to a summer art camp at around the age of ten, and I was fortunate to be able to major in art in high school. Having learned basic techniques, I used college to learn a career in Graphic Design and continued fine art on my own, trying to keep it pure.

I’m self-employed, so I work on art whenever I’m inspired. I enjoy getting inspiration from the places I go and things I experience, collecting earth that I use to create texture on my canvases. My subject matter is usually inspired by those travels, and lately I’ve done images of birds and the woods.

I’ve shown all over Delmarva, as well as Annapolis and Baltimore. I always have a piece in The Foundry in Denton, and I’m currently exhibiting at Ouvert in St. Michaels, and show work routinely at Annmarie Garden in Solomons, Maryland. I’d like to see my work get in as many galleries as possible.

When not working on artwork I bicycle, play with sports cars and enjoy the outdoors.

I like to paint and craft while my kids are in school, my work is at the Foundry and online. I’ve lived in Caroline County my entire life and I graduated from North Caroline High School in ’89. My degree is in business, oddly enough, but my studies include courses in art and graphic design and I was a copyeditor and page designer at our local newspaper.

I have always liked to make things and still do. One of my first projects of note was a chess set I designed and turned while in high school. Ever since then the lathe has held a special fascination for me. However, my work as a high school mathematics teacher, summertime carpentry, and raising a family occupied most of my time for many years. When the local school system eliminated the industrial arts program and sold the equipment, I purchased the same lathe I had used as a high school student. I was back to woodturning. I have been fortunate enough to have studied woodturning with David Ellsworth, Bob Rosand, Cindy Drozda, Al Stirt, Don Derry, and Bill Grumbine. I am a member of Chesapeake Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners. Today, with my retirement from teaching approaching, I spend as much time as possible exploring and enjoying the vast world of woodturning.

I was a carpenter for 45 years, working on everything from high-risers to barns. A few years before retiring I began to scale it down to portable objects. This kind of woodwork required new tools and new skills. Carpentry was my trade but woodworking is my craft. I have been with the Foundry for three years and a wood working artist for 15 years. I have five wooded acres which supplies most of the wood I use and a sawmill to turn trees into lumber. This sure beats working!

I started crafting at the age of 4 when I enjoyed making potholders for everyone in the neighborhood. When I was introduced to Stampin’ Up in 2004, I knew it would become my newest crafting addiction so I decided to become a demonstrator to get the discount.

Before I realized what was happening, I was earning enough money to quit my part time job. I quickly found the best reward of being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator was the wonderful people I was meeting on the journey. I love sharing my passion for paper crafting and the business opportunity that Stampin’ Up has afforded me.

I have enjoyed taking my husband pf 34 years on two all expense paid Stampin’ Up incentive trips…one to Hawaii and the other a cruise to Alaska…my husband’s favorite place. As my two children and two grandchildren live a long distances from me, I also enjoy that Stampin’ Up offers me the opportunity to set my own schedule which always includes spending time with my family.

I am priviledged to be the team leader of the MAD (Making a Difference) Stampers, a fun and friendly group of hobby and career stampers. As part of the Stampin’ Up! family, my team and I enjoy demonstrator discounts and benefits. You can join them us…feel free to contact me if you’d like to learn more.

I grew up in Alberta, Canada but have lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for over 40 years. I paint primarily in oils but have also been working in graphite and colored pencils for several years. Having grown up in Alberta, with much of my youth spent riding horses, I have always loved to paint horses. A speciality of mine is portraits of horses and dogs. Recently I began doing drawings in colored pencil, illustrating a child’s name with wooden letter blocks and animals, flowers or other items to illustrate the letters.

I teach watercolor classes and enjoy working in watercolor alone or with pen and ink. I am a member of the Wednesday Watercolor Group that meets in Denton and paints En Plein Air, and a member of the Original Paper Doll Artist Guild. I completed my first paper doll at the age of 12 and now, make pen and ink versions for children to color. My artwork has appeared in national magazines, and my prints have sold and been on display in many locations, including the White House. I enjoy period costumes, and historical buildings. I also carve wood dolls, but they are not offered for sale.

I am originally from the D.C. suburbs and have lived on the Eastern Shore for almost 25 years. I love the slower pace of life here, and the beautiful water views almost everywhere you look. I discovered Mosaics about 8 years ago and have been busy creating mosaics ever since. I studied mosaics with several well-known mosaic artists; Kasia Polkowska (Gaithersburg, Md); Laura Rendlen of Maverick Mosaics Art School in Virginia, and locally with Jen Wagner. All these artists can be found on Facebook! I have worked on mosaic murals for the Caroline County Council of Arts: taught mosaics to Lockerman Middle School students and adults at the Foundry in Denton, Md. My mosaics have been shown and sold at the Local Port of Art in St. Michaels, Md; the Foundry in Denton, Md; and at Ouvert Gallery in St. Michaels, Md. Currently I work Mon-Thursdays in the after-school program at Easton Elementary School. I love mosaics because it is Art for everyone. Mosaics can be Modern, Classic, Folk Art, whatever! There are ENDLESS ways to express yourself with Mosaics!! With a basic mosaic project I hope to open a door for YOU to find self-expression through this amazing art form.
