Artist of the Month: Joanne Gelles

Joanne Gelles, originally from the D.C. suburbs, has been a cherished member of the Eastern Shore artistic community for over 25 years. Specializing in mosaics for more than a decade, Joanne’s work is a testament to her passion and skill, influenced by renowned artists such as Kasia Polkowska and Laura Rendlen. Her vibrant and versatile mosaics have been showcased at prominent local venues like the Local Port of Art and Ouvert Gallery in St. Michaels, MD, as well as The Foundry in Denton, MD. Joanne is dedicated to inspiring others through her mosaic classes at The Foundry, where she nurtures creativity and artistic exploration. Join us in celebrating Joanne’s incredible contributions to our artistic community this month!
