Mental Wellness Art Exhibit

The Healing Spectrum: Color & Wellness

Join us at The Foundry Art Gallery, 401 Market St., Denton, MD, on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM for The Healing Spectrum: Color & Wellness, a special group art exhibit exploring the connection between color, creativity, emotions, and mental wellness.

Color is something we experience every day, but it can mean something different to each of us. It can be explored through science, psychology, art, culture, and spiritual traditions. Each color of the visible spectrum has its own wavelength and frequency, while also carrying emotional and symbolic meanings that can influence how we feel and how we connect with the world around us.

For this exhibit, local artists were invited to create monochromatic artwork inspired by a specific color of the visible spectrum. Each artist has explored their chosen color through different shades, tones, textures, subjects, and artistic styles.

As you move through the gallery, the artwork will be arranged in rainbow order from red through violet, creating a colorful journey through the spectrum and highlighting the many ways artists can interpret the same color.

During the event, guests will also have the opportunity to take part in a creative wellness mask making activity upstairs. Using a variety of colorful art and craft materials, participants can create a mask inspired by how they are feeling, how they would like to feel, or a personal reminder of their own wellness journey. No art experience is needed. It is simply a chance to slow down, be creative, and reflect.

Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will also be provided during the event.

Come take a journey through color while enjoying an afternoon of art, creativity, reflection, and community.

The Healing Spectrum: Color & Wellness is FREE and open to everyone.

We hope you will join us for this colorful exploration of art, color, and wellness!
