John & Emily Liszewski: Dynamic Father-Daughter Duo!

By | Artist of the Month, Featured News, Uncategorized

John Liszewski

John Liszewski, born in Bucks County, PA, moved to Maryland in 1977 and embarked on a lifelong journey of artistic expression. Throughout his school years, he honed his artistic skills, spending time in art classes and eventually studying at Bucks Community College.

While pursuing a career, John’s passion for art never waned. He channeled his creativity into cartoons featuring his coworkers and supervisors, reminiscent of the popular Dilbert comics. His talent caught the attention of Army Motors, the publication for the international Military Vehicle club MVCC, where he contributed a regular cartoon series.

After a hiatus, John returned to his cartooning roots with a new character, Jerry Cann, featured in the publication History in Motion.

Beyond cartoons, John has created paintings, drawings, and even murals, showcasing his versatile artistic abilities. He contributed art to the Stuart Tank Memorial Association in Berwick, PA, preserving the memory of WWII’s historic light tank.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, John is a lifelong Karate practitioner, with over 54 years of teaching and training experience. He initiated the program at the Easton YMCA and has continued his involvement with Caroline Rec and Parks for more than two decades.

John is also dedicated to community service, having volunteered for various causes, including Reiki at Easton Memorial, welcoming veterans at the National WWII Memorial for Honorflight.org, and participating in Tarot Tuesday meetings in Denton.

Now retired, John remains active, occasionally taking on part-time work and participating in arts and craft fairs and events alongside his daughter, Emily.

You can connect with John Liszewski on Facebook through the following links: johnliszewski44artworks, Eastern Shore Honor Flight Greeters, Eastern Sun Karate, Caroline County Karate (both through Rec and Parks), and Eastern Sun Reiki team.

Emily Liszewski

In the heart of our artistic community resides a true gem, none other than the talented jewelry artist Emily Liszewski. Emily’s journey into the world of creativity began in the hallowed halls of her school, where her hands first embraced the art of crafting beauty. Her innate talent and dedication were soon recognized, earning her a prestigious membership in the National Arts Honor Society, a testament to her exceptional skills and passion for artistic expression.

Currently navigating the fascinating realm of interior design at Anne Arundel Community College, Emily’s artistic pursuits have taken a captivating turn. In 2021, she discovered her innate knack for crafting gemstone bracelets, rings, and necklaces, each piece meticulously designed based on the healing properties of the gemstones. This revelation marked the birth of her signature style, where artistry intertwines seamlessly with the mystical energy of precious stones, creating jewelry pieces that resonate with both aesthetics and spirituality.

Emily’s artistic flair has made her a beloved presence at local craft shows. In addition to her thriving artistic ventures, Emily has become a cherished member of the Caroline County Council of the Arts (CCCA) since 2021.

Join us in celebrating the artistry of Emily Liszewski, where creativity meets craftsmanship, and where every piece tells a story of passion, dedication, and the boundless possibilities of artistic expression.
